Taos

After 900 odd miles and a stop in Amarillo (aka center of the Bible Belt of Texas) we have arrived in Taos. It is a cross between Eastern Washington and Carmel with a splash of Pahrump, Nevada thrown in.

The mountains are amazing -- we drove across them from Las Vegas, NM: shimmering groves of aspens amidst dark green pine trees. Even the ground cover was a beautiful shade of red.

The town is made up of art galleries, restaurants and assorted touristy stores.

The B&B we are staying at is lovely, although the whole concept is new to us and we are somewhat unsure of the appropriate protocol for chatting with the other guests and the hosts.

More later.
