I know it is hard to tell from this picture, but these are turkey youngsters. Mom brought them to the back yard last night. She stood up on the hill and watched them scratch through the bird feeder debris. They did not mind me taking their photo through the window, but as soon as I moved to another window they headed for the woods.
Even though they are not as cute as the twin fawns that appeared a few weeks ago, I find it staggering that any critters are managing to breed and raise young in this drought.
